As part of Propaganda, White Water Gallery will host a Zine and Multiples Fair on July 19th & 20th to bring amazing artwork and artists to engage with the local community of North Bay, Ontario. The full list of workshops and events is available on our website.

Reel Northern (July 26th to August 31st, 2013) is a film and video presentation from Northern Ontario. This will be a multi-media exhibition using multiple projectors, digital frames, and television monitors to create a gallery of moving images. The film and video content displays an interesting variety, ranging from the poetic to the comedic, the dramatic to the everyday, and back again. This event is presented in partnership with the Near North Mobile Media Lab.

Ruth Howard Residency (September 3rd to 22nd, 2013) During this 3 week residency, Ruth will continue the work she started in December 2012 in North Bay. Ruth Howard, Artistic Director of Jumblies Theatre, will be leading a series of community arts events as part of a partnership between the North Bay Public Library, Aanmitaagzi and the White Water Gallery.

Rebel (October 4th to November 17th, 2013) is a multi-faceted media arts installation featuring two of Canada’s most infamous contemporary media artists, Istvan Kantor and Terrance Houle. These two artists have consistently pushed the boundaries of their art form and sparked an abundance of critical commentaries around their art practices. White Water Gallery wishes to bring these national level artists into our space to ignite similar critical discourse in our community, and further its mandate to present innovative contemporary art. “Rebel” is a term we use for individuals that push against the tide in defence of their own opinions and concepts. The performances and artist talks will take place during the public reception for the event.
