H'art Centre

H'art Centre believes all people should have equal opportunities to foster their artistic aspirations through the study, enjoyment and production of works in the arts. We foster collaborative mixed-ability arts productions and we work to build understanding regarding ideas of artistic excellence. To ensure people facing barriers can have meaningful participation in the arts, H'art is committed to providing an array of educational, life skill and social supports.

    H'art School - Our core program helps adults with an developmental disability reach their highest potential through education and the arts. THE BOX - a fully accessible and affordable performing arts space for individuals, groups and organizations experiencing exclusion from the arts. Able Artist - an ongoing series of talks, workshops and performances by professional artists with disabilities and leaders in the inclusive arts field.

    HAAP! is H'art Centre’s community-coordinated arts initiative for seniors with disabilities or barriers who live in long-term care homes. Several times a week, trained professional artists and volunteers travel to long-term care homes across Kingston to deliver meaningful arts-based programming.

    H'art Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides people with disabilities and those facing barriers with opportunities to create and experience the arts. 
  • ArtBridging Section:
    THE BOX is our 3,500 square foot performing arts studio with a seating capacity of 150. Its mandate includes providing access for a diverse population who face barriers to participating in the performing arts. A wide variety of community users are now taking part!
