Resources and Tools for Community-Engaged Arts

You can search or browse for community arts toolkits, templates, reflections and stories, best practices, and more. You can find resources organized by category or through a keyword search. If you’re new to this field, you can check out our ‘Getting Started’ collection.

The resources in this section have been developed and generously shared by artists and cultural workers in Canada through the course of their work. If you have a resource you would like to share, please contact us. All contributors are provided with full credit and a website link.

These resources have been collected in order to share knowledge and support the ongoing efforts of artists and cultural workers. If you wish to adapt or re-use work, please contact the original creator for permission. The resources and tools on this site should not be considered a replacement for legal advice.

If you just want to take a look around, you can browse through everything here.

• Tip: If you have a specific question in mind, you can browse the listings by category.
i.e.: Funding & Fundraising, Planning & Evaluation, Arts Practice & How to, etc...

• Tip: If you want to find something added recently, you can click on the Latest Resources tab.

You can search resources by entering keywords into the search box, just like searching the internet.
If your search still isn’t returning any results, consider these tips:

• Tip: Try using a more general term. For example, instead of ‘guitar’, try ‘music’.

• Tip: Try a wildcard search using the * wildcard character to replace the last part of the word. I.e.: Instead of “artist”, try art*; instead of “communities”, try “communit*”.

You can also choose to sort and filter your search results so that they are organized in       different ways.

• Tip: Looking for French language resources only? Click on the language button.
