Music & Arts Business WorkshopArtReach Toronto, Toronto | ON

"Business is not generally an artists’ forte, but every artist needs to know about the back-end to ensure they are successful and that they do not get taken advantage of. Vice Versa, a manager needs to know what his or her role is in order to manage the artist effectively. This workshop is geared towards artists and managers - we will discuss what the role of a manager is, what basic services they should be providing, reviewing contracts, how to register your name as a business / and what that means & offers (for the artist and manager), as well as how to navigate SOCAN and copyrights to begin generating an income from your business.

This workshop is geared towards recording/performing and visual artists.

Facilitators include: Gaurav Sawhney (Shad’s Manager, Managing Director of CTC West) Ashley McKenzie Barnes (Visual Artist, Curator, and board member of CARFAC) Dave Guenette (Manager, Arts and Crafts)
