Social Circus Circle (SCC) is a “new, small organization that provides “Social Circus” workshops to youth groups, primarily youth at risk between the ages of 13 and 30. “Social Circus” is the concept of using Circus Arts as a medium for social good.”
SCC, partners with “existing programs in Toronto for youth at risk (nonprofit community groups and schools) to provide something unique for youth to build skills of trust, self esteem, teamwork and to discover hidden talents, while participating in physical activity, being artistically expressive and having fun.” Check their website for much more!
SCC are coming to Toronto Secondary Schools this fall!
“2 Social Circus Circle instructors on our team: Rachel and Rebecca: (Check our website to see their bios) will be on the Artists in Education roster. This means Ontario Secondary schools can bring them in to provide Social Circus units as part of their Phys Ed, Arts or Theatre programs with the support of the Ontario Arts Council. If you are from an Ontario Secondary school that is interested, please contact us at info@SocialCircusCircle.ca . We will give priority to schools with high populations of students at risk.
Also, if you are part of a community organization who would like to partner with us, feel free to contact us, or if you’d simply like to get in touch, FEEL FREE! We are happy to answer any questions, discuss the program or hear about what programs you are doing in the community!”
