“Toronto, March 4 2016 – The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) is partnering with NDN Talent Collective to run the Aboriginal Musicians Travel Assistance program.
The program supports emerging and established Ontario-based Aboriginal musicians and songwriters/composers to attend performances and engagements that will have high impact on their career development. It is open to Aboriginal artists from across Ontario working in all professional music genres. The deadline is May 2, 2016 – Apply Now.
OAC has engaged NDN Talent Collective to administer this initiative. The Aboriginal Musicians Travel Assistance program supports provincial, national and international travel to significant engagements including hired performances, showcases and other proposed career development opportunities that are unique and important for each artist.
NDN Talent is a new, not-for-profit arts service organization that supports the development of Indigenous musicians. It offers services, resources, tools and projects to foster sustainable, self-sufficient careers in the music industry. NDN Talent was founded by band members of A Tribe Called Red, and is led by a board of directors who are industry leaders in music and Indigenous arts.
