Harmony Movement in partnership with 918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts + Media presents Arts.4.Equity a 5-day summer workshop series. Express yourself AND your community through the arts. Pick one of four art streams (photography, visual arts, performance art or Afro-Caribbean modern dance) to gain new art skills and participate in diversity education workshops to explore ideas about identity, stereotypes and social action facilitated by Harmony Movement.
FOR: 40 youth between the ages of 13-18 interested in the arts and social change.
WHEN: August 22-26th from 11:00-4pm
WHAT: You choose photography, visual arts, performance arts or dance.
WHERE: 918 Bathurst Street (north of Bathurst Station)
Perks of the program include:
• Learn how to use the arts for social change
• Meet and be taught by professional and community artists
• Showcase your creative piece at a community arts exhibition
• Receive a certificate of acknowledgement for your work, education and leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion through the program
• 25 community service hours
