“Ontario Culture Days invites young and emerging professional artists in Ontario to submit proposals to the third annual cohort of the Youth Arts Ambassadors Program (YAAP).

- Develop your professional practice in areas such as marketing, outreach and community arts practices?
- Be mentored and supported by an established community host?
- Connect with a broad network of arts leaders from your region, province and across Canada?

YAAP is contingent upon the receipt of funding still to be announced. The following is a call for expressions of interest prior to an estimated project launch in late April 2018.
Youth Arts Ambassadors Program (YAAP)
In 2016, Ontario Culture Days launched a new initiative called the Youth Arts Ambassadors Program (YAAP). The program, aimed at fostering and supporting the next generation of community-engaged artists in our province, commissioned selected professional artists under 30 to create new works of art. The artworks were unveiled over the Culture Days weekend with a corresponding public program directed towards members of the artists’ communities. As YAAP enters its third year, we are looking to grow and develop this valuable initiative. In 2018, YAAP will increase its emphasis on the role of arts ambassadorship. YAAP artists will be partnered with local host organisations to develop outreach and programming initiatives that relate to the needs of their local communities. Alongside this relationship-building, Culture Days will provide the artists with educational resources to deepen their understanding of arts advocacy, arts marketing and program development. Combining the practical relationship building with a professional development component will provide participating artists with a valuable set of resources. This will help them as they reach out to their communities, act as ambassadors for local arts initiatives, and develop a successful YAAP program for the Culture Days weekend, September 28, 29 and 30, 2018. 2018:”
