Y ART? Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Call out to South Asian Youth (13 \u2013 29) to participate in free youth by youth arts program to explore arts as a form of self-expression.<\/p>\n<p>Q? Y Art? is a multi-disciplinary arts program for South Asian youth (13-29) who identify as members of the LGBTTIQQ2S\/WSW\/MSM communities; youth will engage in arts practices, create portfolios and launch their work.<\/p>\n<p><small>** By South Asian we mean with history or language that is: Indo-Caribbean, Tamil, South Asian, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Or\u2026?<\/small><\/p>\n<p><small>**By LGBTTIQQ2S\/WSW\/MSM, we mean Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Two Spirit, Women who have Sex with Women, Men who have Sex with Men<\/small><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two different ways to participate:<\/strong> ONE OFF WORKSHOPS and\/or INTENSIVE PROGRAM<\/p>\n<p><strong>ONE OFF Workshops (YOUTH 13 \u2013 19)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These stand alone workshops will take place weekday evenings in different locations throughout the city. Each workshop will focus on one art form, facilitated by one of our talented guest artist facilitators. All workshops will be free and food and TTC tokens will be provided<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong><br \/>\nLINOCUT! \u2013 Artist Facilitator: Eshan Rafi<br \/>\nJuly 17 \u2013 4:30 -7:45pm \u2013 Riverdale Branch (Toronto Public Library)<\/p>\n<p>WRITING! \u2013 Artist Facilitator: Vivek Shraya<br \/>\nJuly 24 \u2013 4:45 &#8211; 7:45pm \u2013 North York Central Branch (Toronto Public Library)<\/p>\n<p>DRAG and BURLESQUE! \u2013 Artist Facilitator: Sammy Samosa and Masti Khor<br \/>\nJuly 26 \u2013 4:30 -7:30 pm \u2013 Richview Branch (Toronto Public Library)<\/p>\n<p>August 1 \u2013 evening \u2013 location and artist to be announced<\/p>\n<p>For program details and updates please visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/qyartproject.com\/programming\/art-forms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/qyartproject.com\/programming\/art-forms\/<\/a> or send an e-mail toqyartproject@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTENSIVE PROGRAM (Youth 18 \u2013 29)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This program brings together folks in a three day intensive program to challenge queer and trans phobia, as well as racism &#8211; we\u2019re trying to create a space for youth to talk about how they experience these, whether external or internalized. There will be opportunities to explore creative writing and performance, plus a chance to talk about histories as well as current events, as they can relate to South Asian LGBTTIQQ2S\/WSW\/MSM youth. There is definitely room for you to tailor the program to what you want!<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> Saturday July 21, Saturday July 28 and Sunday July 29<br \/>\n<strong>What time:<\/strong> 11:30 \u2013 5pm each day<br \/>\n<strong>Where:<\/strong> Delisle Youth Services S.T.A.R.S. Space ( Yonge and Eglinton)!<\/p>\n<p>Each day will have 5 hours of programming exploring multiple art forms in workshops facilitated by some of our talented guest artist facilitators.
