Inspired by the memory of Jim Fay, this bursary is available to youth who:<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>are (or were) using the services of a recognized youth agency or social services agency that supports homeless or \u201cat-risk\u201d youth<\/li>\n<li>are between the ages of 16 and 24<\/li>\n<li>are living in the Greater Toronto Area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Award amounts vary, up to a\u00a0 maximum\u00a0of $2,000.\u00a0 The selected applicants may use\u00a0their award\u00a0money for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the purchase of a musical instrument or related equipment,<\/li>\n<li>registration and reasonable relevant expenses toward participating in a recognized musical workshop setting,<\/li>\n<li>tuition to a music course or music program at College or University,<\/li>\n<li>tuition or lessons\u00a0at a private music institution, including personal private lessons,<\/li>\n<li>a music practical or study experience that meets the terms of reference of this bursary that have not been listed above (applicants would need to make a case for his\/her desired program\/experience).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To be considered for the 2012 award, applications must be submitted by November 1st, 2012.\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00ab\u00a0The Jim Fay Music Bursary is an annual\u00a0financial\u00a0award intended to support young\u00a0musicians\u00a0who wish to\u00a0further their study or practice of traditional, folk or roots music.
