Southern Youth in Motion will be hosting a showcase event honouring the youth that are participating in this new initiative at Mamow Sha-way-gi-kay-win: North South Partnership for Children. The event is planned for December 1st at the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto. Youth participants from across northern Ontario will be in attendance and exhibiting some of their artwork at the event. SYiM would like to present these youth with ‘loot bags’ as a way of thanking them for their participation but also to ensure they are able to continue to pursue their passion.<\/p>\n

For these ‘loot bags’ SYiM is seeking donations of the following items:
\n– 100 sketch books
\n– 50 pencil sets
\n– 50 paint sets
\n– 10 canvases
\n– Embroidery and fabric donations
\n– 20 airbrush supply kits with paint
\n– 20 caligraphy sets
\n– 50 stencil kits
\n– 10 sculpture kits<\/p>\n

Donations can be dropped off until November 30th at the Centre for Social Innovation, 215 Spadina Ave., Suite 409, Toronto, ON. Contact Lauren Akbar for more information at lauren.akbar@northsouthpartnership.com<\/a> or (416) 644-5162, ext.2.<\/p>\n

Please support this unique initiative that aims to connect youth in southern Ontario with youth in northern Ontario\u2019s First Nations communities through art, music and videos.<\/p>\n
