\u00ab\u00a0Sistema New Brunswick (Sistema NB)<\/a><\/strong> is a social program of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra (NBYO)<\/strong> that provides free music instruction to disadvantaged children from grades one to six for three hours per day, every day after school. Through an intensive orchestral music program, social change is fostered through playing music together; a direct counter to the corrosive impact of perpetually being left out. Children are transformed \u2013 and so are their futures.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

We spoke with Ken MacLeod, President and CEO of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra\/L’Orchestre des jeunes du Nouveau-Brunswick on Wednesday about Sistema NB. He said that Sistema has now got 4 project locations running in New Brunswick! He also said that Seoul, Korea had started up a Sistema program last year after learning from the successful strategies of the Sistema New Brunswick program.
