\u00ab\u00a0Alianait\u2019s 10th Anniversary Festival takes place \u00a0from June 27 to July 1 and we have a stellar line-up of performers, including a few favourites from previous years \u2014 Namgar<\/em>,<\/strong> a Mongolian\/Chinese collaboration from Moscow, New Zealand\u2019s Pacific <\/em>Curls<\/strong>, Nunavut\u2019s favourite storyteller Michael Kusugak<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em>Canadian singer\/song-writer Nathan Rogers<\/em><\/strong> and the \u201cMinister of Positivity\u201d Fred Penner.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We are thrilled to feature 2 performances of a new circus production Asiu<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Artcirq<\/em> <\/strong>and to introduce our audiences to\u00a0Akukittut<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>from\u00a0Greenland\u00a0featuring Kimmernaq Kjeldsen, Mike Phillip Fencker Thomsen, Frederik Elsner and Hans-Henrik Poulsen.<\/p>\n

Nunavut artists performing for the first time at the Alianait Arts Festival are Northern Haze, Etulu & Udjualuk Etidloie\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>and Joanne Ashley\u00a0<\/i><\/b>with special guests Greg Simms <\/em><\/strong>and Trent Freeman.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 And we\u2019re always thrilled to present popular Nunavut groups The Tradeoffs<\/em><\/strong> and Kikkukia<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We are also pleased to introduce Nunavik\u2019s Jaaji Uppik<\/em><\/strong>,the Yukon\u2019s swing folk duo Fawn Fritzen & Grant Simpson<\/em><\/strong>, country\/blues\/funk band The Crooked Brothers<\/em><\/strong> from Manitoba, Alberta singer-songwriter Billie Zizi <\/em><\/strong>and B.C.\u2019s orchestral pop group Wintermitts<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Tickets for the main stage concerts cost $20 for adults, $10 for youth (13-18), elders and children (12 & under) are free.<\/p>\n
