Purpose:<\/strong> The program provides grants of $500 to Aboriginal artists working in the visual arts, crafts or traditional Aboriginal art forms for the cost of buying materials and supplies to make their work.<\/p>\n

Artists must apply directly to one of the participating Aboriginal recommender organizations:
\n– Anemki Art Collective, Thunder Bay
\n– Neto Hatinakwe Onkwehowe Native Arts Canada, Niagara Falls
\n– Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, M’Chigeeng
\n– Woodland Cultural Centre, Brantford<\/p>\n

Eligibility:<\/strong>
\n– This program is open to Aboriginal artists working in the visual arts, crafts or traditional Aboriginal art forms.
\n– The OAC\u2019s definition of the term \u201cAboriginal\u201d means Status and Non-Status, M\u00e9tis and Inuit people.
\n– Applicants must reside in Ontario and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.<\/p>\n

Deadline Dates:<\/strong>
\n– Anemki Art Collective has a single deadline of October 15, 2014.
\n– All other recommender organizations accept applications at any time, starting in July 2014, until their budgets are spent. The program closes on February 6, 2015.<\/p>\n

Approved applications are forwarded to OAC by the recommender once the decision to award a grant has been made.<\/p>\n
