In addition, the festival celebrates its fifth year by partnering with the inaugural Cultural Hotspot project, along with various other community organizations. The festival runs August 22 and 23, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The festival kicks off with its Variety Night on Friday, August 22 at 5 p.m. The evening will feature a DJ, musical and spoken word performances, and short films\u2014all outside, at the East Scarborough Festival Market. On August 23, the Arts, Culture and Environmental Festival takes over the space under Lawrence Avenue Bridge from 2-6 p.m. The day will be full of activities, performances, music, vendors\u2014and free food!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bridging Festival truly is a unique event,\u201d says Jen D. Fabico, Interim Executive Director of Scarborough Arts. \u201cIt uses an unconventional space to activate a community with music, arts, food, the environment\u2014the list goes on. Each year, we\u2019ve tweaked things to keep the festival fresh and exciting. Our fifth year is extra-special because not only do we continue to shine a light on the KGO community, we also have opened up many doors for communities outside of KGO to come and celebrate with us. We\u2019ve welcomed new partners and participants to \u2018bridge\u2019 all of Scarborough. We\u2019re very excited to be a part of the first-ever Cultural Hotspot and to celebrate this milestone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bridging Festival 2014 is presented by Scarborough Arts in partnership with the City of Toronto \u2013 Arts and Culture, East Scarborough Storefront, East Scarborough Festival Market, Scarborough Historical Museum, and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.<br \/>\n<strong>WHAT:<\/strong> The 5th Annual Bridging Festival<br \/>\n<strong>WHEN:<\/strong> August 22, 2014 at 5 p.m. and August 23, 2014 at 2 p.m.<br \/>\n<strong>WHERE:<\/strong> East Scarborough Festival Market, 4130 Lawrence Ave. E (Aug 22) and East\u00a0Scarborough Storefront, 4040 Lawrence Ave. E (Aug 23)<br \/>\n<strong>COST:<\/strong> FREE<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scarborough Arts<\/strong> develops, delivers, and promotes arts programming and cultural initiatives in collaboration and partnership with the community. We bring artists to the community and community to the arts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Cultural Hotspot<\/strong> is a project of City of Toronto\u2019s Arts &amp; Culture, and its aim is to shine a light on arts, culture and community in different Toronto neighbourhoods.
