As ArtBridges\u2019\u00a0Community-Engaged Arts Directory<\/a>\u00a0grows, we realize that it\u2019s a bit overwhelming to read through all of the profiles. We\u2019re hoping that by occasionally highlighting some profiles on our blog, you may learn about an initiative that you may not have initially seen in the directory. Also, if you know of a Canadian community-engaged arts for social change initiative that isn\u2019t in our directory, but should be, please\u00a0let us know<\/a>! \u00ab\u00a0Pronounced ah-nah-mun<\/em>, The Onaman Collective<\/strong><\/a> was formed in November of 2014 by Isaac Murdoch, Christi Belcourt and Erin Konsmo. We care so deeply about the youth and the future of our communities, each of us in our own way has been using our art for social change. We formed the collective for the express purpose of finding ways to converge land-based art creation with traditional knowledge, youth, Elders and Anishnaabemowin and Cree languages. Our goal is to empower young people with knowledge and skills about the earth from an traditional indigenous viewpoint.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
