{"id":18250,"date":"2015-08-05T06:38:23","date_gmt":"2015-08-05T10:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/en\/?p=18250"},"modified":"2015-08-05T06:38:23","modified_gmt":"2015-08-05T10:38:23","slug":"sharon-wolfe-artist-in-residence-program-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artbridges.ca\/fr\/sharon-wolfe-artist-in-residence-program-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: Sharon Wolfe Artist in Residence Program, Tangled Art + Disability (Toronto)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tangledart.jpg\" rel=\"PrettyPhoto[18250]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15560\" alt=\"tangled art logo\" src=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tangledart.jpg\" width=\"288\" height=\"179\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #df1f83;\"><em>Applications are currently being accepted for the\u00a02015-2016\u00a0The\u00a0Sharon\u00a0Wolfe\u00a0Artist in Residence Program<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0The\u00a0<strong>Sharon\u00a0Wolfe\u00a0Artist in Residence Program<\/strong>\u00a0facilitates\u00a0a\u00a0disabili<wbr \/>ty and\/or mad-\u00a0identified artist to undertake a project that advances their own artistic goals and\u00a0practice, and which has the potential to benefit the wider community of artists with\u00a0disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>For the last 13\u00a0years, Tangled has been presenting and promoting the work of\u00a0exceptionally talented\u00a0disability-identified<wbr \/>\u00a0artists\u00a0across the entire spectrum of\u00a0disciplines.\u00a0The\u00a0Sharon\u00a0Wol<wbr \/>fe\u00a0Artist in Residence Program\u00a0allows us to take this\u00a0mandate a step further.\u00a0And, while funding poses a significant challenge for all\u00a0artists, people with disabilities encounter a host of additional institutional and\u00a0bureaucratic barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Named in honour of the organization&rsquo;s founding Artistic Director\u00a0Sharon\u00a0Wolfe,\u00a0The\u00a0Sha<wbr \/>ron\u00a0Wolfe\u00a0Artist in Residence Program\u00a0provide artists with\u00a0a $5000 stipend,\u00a0as well as access to a shared studio space at the prestigious 401 Richmond art\u00a0space for up to 2 months\u00a0to allow an artist to devote themselves to a specific\u00a0program\u00a0of work. The body of work produced during this residency will be\u00a0publicly\u00a0exhibited. During their residency, the selected artist will also be contributing\u00a0to a\u00a0larger dialogue and sense of engagement with both the Tangled community and the\u00a0wider community of disability artists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0Sharon\u00a0Wolfe\u00a0Artist in Residence Program\u00a0is intended to benefit\u00a0disability\u00a0and\/or mad identified\u00a0artists who have completed basic education or training in their\u00a0discipline\u00a0and can demonstrate a history of professional practice and exposure.<\/li>\n<li>The residency is open to artists who have a clearly defined\u00a0project\u00a0that they wish\u00a0to undertake during this residency.<\/li>\n<li>The residency is open to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
