The AlumNia Seed Fund supports the professional development of artists in their growth.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nTo provide funds for early-career artists to invest in artists\u2019 capacity to generate income from their creativity<\/p>\n<p>To present early career artist with paid opportunities for professional development<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThis seed fund is for youth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>who are between the age of 18-29<\/li>\n<li>who are in any artistic discipline<\/li>\n<li>who identify as Black (of African and\/or Caribbean descent)<\/li>\n<li>have a viable artist development trajectory<\/li>\n<li>who have completed one or more Nia Centre programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Use of Funds<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Capital Costs<\/strong><br \/>\nFor example:\u00a0Training books or manuals<br \/>\nDevelop \u201cportfolio\u201d materials that document and promote your work: professional demo recordings, recording of works in performance for dance and theatre artists, demo reels, documentation of visual arts work, websites as a presentation tool<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training and Mentorship<\/strong><br \/>\nFor example:\u00a0Fees for a course, workshop, creative lab, artist residency, master class, or other professional development activity<br \/>\nHonorarium to a mentor for 1-on-1 mentorship<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Midnight<br \/>\nPlease email fseidu@niacentre.org for an application form.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><small><em>-from Nia Centre for the Arts newsletter<br \/>\nh<\/em><\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00ab\u00a0Creative Connect is proud to offer our alumni up-to $1000 in seed funding to invest in their professional capacity as working creatives.
