This is really basic. \u00a0It\u2019s important for youth to know that their input is valued. In order to engage youth, the programs you have on offer have to be interesting to young people, and so you have to have heard from young people from the get go!<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>2: INVITATIONAL WELCOME<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The way we welcome people into the space is important. We say, \u201cWelcome! This is a place where you can do a whole bunch of cool stuff.\u201d \u00a0You are always striving, striving to create diverse inclusion. There\u2019s a trajectory, and that\u2019s the beginning.<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>There\u2019s a kind of invitational welcome where I\u2019ll say what my gender pronouns are, right off the get-go. Kerry also teaches in the <a href=\"http:\/\/communityservices.humber.ca\/programs\/diplomas\/child-and-youth-care\">Child and Youth Care<\/a> program at Humber College (2012-present).
