{"id":23379,"date":"2019-02-04T06:35:36","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T10:35:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/en\/?p=23379"},"modified":"2019-02-04T06:35:36","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T10:35:36","slug":"indigenous-artists-in-communities-and-schools-projects-oac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artbridges.ca\/fr\/indigenous-artists-in-communities-and-schools-projects-oac\/","title":{"rendered":"Indigenous Artists in Communities and Schools Projects (Ontario Arts Council)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23380\" src=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/oac-indigenous-artists.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" \/><\/div>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arts.on.ca\/grants\/indigenous-artists-in-communities-and-schools-proj-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indigenous Artists in Communities and Schools Projects<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The program supports projects that bring together Ontario-based Indigenous artists or Elders to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>work with individuals or groups of people from a community on collaborative activities that create a meaningful arts experience and transmit artistic skills and knowledge<\/li>\n<li>teach arts workshops in schools during the upcoming school year, engaging children and youth in creative, active, hands-on and in-depth arts experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are five categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Community arts projects<\/strong>: to help cover the costs of participatory activities that promote learning, collaboration and\/or engagement in the arts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indigenous languages through the arts<\/strong>: to help cover the costs of artistic and community-engaged projects in which the primary purpose is the transmission of Indigenous languages through the arts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training for community artists and animators<\/strong>: to help cover the costs of Indigenous artists and animators working in community and non-arts settings to seek training and mentorship opportunities that will strengthen their community arts, arts training or arts education practice<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indigenous artists in schools projects<\/strong>: to help cover the costs of activities that promote learning, collaboration and\/or engagement in the arts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Indigenous artists in northern fly-in communities<\/strong>: supports (a) applicants from fly-in communities working anywhere in Ontario, and (b) applicants from anywhere in Ontario working in fly-in communities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Applicants may apply to only one category.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline Dates: <b>February 21 and August 29, 2019, 1 p.m. ET<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications will be available in Nova approximately two months before the deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Grant notification approximately four months after the deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: Individuals have the option to apply orally to this program.
