Critical Self-Care<\/a><br \/>\nAPRIL 03, 2019<br \/>\nDANCE STUDIO, THE AL &amp; MALKA GREEN ARTISTS&rsquo; HEALTH CENTRE, TORONTO WESTERN HOSPITAL | 4:00 &#8211; 6:00PM<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT\u2019S THIS GOT TO DO WITH STRESS?<\/strong><br \/>\nUsing a health equity lens, we\u2019ll explore shared sources of stress and how self-care practices can meaningfully support artists\u2019 wellbeing in the context of precarious work and intersecting inequities. We\u2019ll take a critical eye to self-care messaging that is geared towards self-sufficiency and productivity and come to understand self-care as health practices which foster greater control over our art and lives.<\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, you can expect to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relate your own experiences as an artist to an equity-informed view of self-care<\/li>\n<li>Create a personalized self-care template you can use to develop self-care practices, now and in the future<\/li>\n<li>Exchange insight, experiences and stories with other participants (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHO IS FACILITATING?<\/strong><br \/>\nNetta Kornberg is a published researcher and organizer who has worked internationally in adult education, health promotion and the arts. She is the Program &amp; Education Coordinator at Artists\u2019 Health Alliance. Always learning, Netta completed safeTALK Suicide Alertness and trains as an amateur boxer. She holds an MPhil. at the University of Cambridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STRESSED! SESSIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nThis workshop is part of the series \u201cSTRESSED! How to handle an artists\u2019 life in 9 sessions\u201d. All sessions take place on the 1st Wednesday of the month, 4-6pm, at The Al &amp; Malka Green Artists\u2019 Health Centre from September 2018 \u2013 May 2019.
