{"id":23568,"date":"2019-03-27T06:22:34","date_gmt":"2019-03-27T10:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/en\/?p=23568"},"modified":"2019-03-27T06:22:34","modified_gmt":"2019-03-27T10:22:34","slug":"newcomer-and-refugee-artist-mentorship-toronto-arts-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artbridges.ca\/fr\/newcomer-and-refugee-artist-mentorship-toronto-arts-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Newcomer and Refugee Artist Mentorship (Toronto Arts Council)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20716\" src=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/torontoartscouncil-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"215\" \/><\/div>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Toronto Arts Council\u2019s Newcomer and Refugee Artist Mentorship program was created to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide support for newcomer and refugee artists to develop their artistic practice;<\/li>\n<li>support the integration and inclusion of newcomer and refugee artists to Toronto<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We define a newcomer as: an immigrant or refugee who has lived in Canada for less than 7 years; a refugee is a person who was forced to leave their home country and is now located in Canada.<br \/>\nThe program provides funding for individual newcomer and refugee professional* artists to be mentored (guided) in their chosen arts discipline.<br \/>\nThe mentorship application is submitted by the newcomer artist with the mentor as the co-applicant.
