Project &#8211; Turbulence II is an exciting paid, skill-building workshop series for youth, taking place this winter at UTSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turbulence II is a free a mixed-media storytelling workshop series for emerging artists, who identify as Muslim women of colour. The 11 week (22 hours) series will guide 15 youth artists to create a collection of pieces through the interdisciplinary practice of: illustration, poetry, and painting, and will incorporate re-purposing materials (such as fabric, plates, and pottery). The series will conclude with a gallery exhibition, showcasing the stories of the diaspora experience and disrupting harmful narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop series is facilitated by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/muralroutes.ca\/member\/the-e-w-o-c-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The E.W.o.C. Project<\/a>, alongside&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/festivalofauthors.ca\/participants\/oubah-osman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oubah Osman<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yaraelsafi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yara El Safi<\/a>, in partnership with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.artreach.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Art Reach&nbsp;<\/a>and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/torontoartscouncil.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toronto Arts Council.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the workshop series: Turbulence II<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/muralroutes.ca\/member\/the-e-w-o-c-project\/\" target=\"_blank\">The E.W.o.C. (Equity for Women of Colour) Project&nbsp;<\/a>is facilitating Turbulence II, a mixed-media storytelling workshop series for emerging artists, who identify as Muslim women of colour.
