\u00ab\u00a0As a part of the Scarborough Arts<\/a>\u2019 ongoing \u201cCOMMUNITY+Connects: Online\u201d programming, we are pleased to present our newest program in our roster, the \u201cIn The Industry\u201d series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn The Industry\u201d series is an online BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) youth-focused wellness program led by creative industry professionals in Scarborough and the GTA.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the Industry\u201d series will foster the creative talents, professional careers, and overall wellbeing for youth interested in being involved\/entering the creative industry. \u201cIn The Industry\u201d series is focused on providing learning and networking opportunities for youth between the ages 16-29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIPOC creative industry professionals will lead workshops that focus on mentorship, professional development, and financial literacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEK 1: Music – In The Industry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oct 27, Oct 30 – Performing Live During the Lockdown (A 2-Part Series)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEK 2: Grant Writing for Emerging Artists – In the Industry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 3 – Grant Writing for Emerging Artists: Artist Bios<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 6 – Grant Writing for Emerging Artists: Explaining Your Project<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEK 3: Curating, Community, and Exhibition Making – In the Industry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 10 – You In Your Community: Does Art Matter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 13 – In The Industry: Curating Your First Exhibition<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEK 4: You Have Options (That Are Not Just School) – In The Industry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 18 – In The Industry: Starting a Visual Practice Without Art School<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 20 – The Language of Design, or Why You Don\u2019t Need to be a Graphic Designer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WEEK 5: Networking and Your Brand – In The Industry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 24 – PR for Artists by The Well Connected<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 27 – From Network to Net Worth\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
