Each mask relates to seven different emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual manipulative forces we encounter both onstage and in daily life.&nbsp;<br>In this workshop you will&#8230;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Learn how to identify&nbsp;various manipulative personas and de-escalate them effectively&nbsp;<\/li><li>Learn how the masks of manipulation techniques can help communities identify and articulate the oppressive forces in their lives&nbsp;<\/li><li>Use these personas to create&nbsp;authentic oppressive characters&nbsp;for the stage&nbsp;grounded in&nbsp;these&nbsp;manipulative forces&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop draws on\u202f<strong>Commedia&nbsp;dell\u2019Arte-inspired masks<\/strong>\u202fto help participants acquire a deeper awareness of\u202f<strong>manipulation and oppression<\/strong>: how and why it happens, what it looks and feels like, and how to deflect&nbsp;it.&nbsp;This workshop,&nbsp;facilitated by\u202fSimon&nbsp;Malbogat,&nbsp;is suitable for\u202f<strong>artists<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>facilitators<\/strong>,\u202f<strong>educators, social workers, and community activators<\/strong>\u202falike.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dates:<\/strong>&nbsp;Saturday June 19th, and Saturday June 26th, 2021<br><strong>Times:&nbsp;<\/strong>10:00 AM \u2013 12:30 PM (ET)&nbsp;<strong>Location:&nbsp;<\/strong>Online via Zoom&nbsp;<br><strong>Prerequisites:&nbsp;<\/strong>None!&nbsp;<br><strong>General&nbsp;Price:<\/strong>&nbsp;$220 + HST&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>There is a 25% discount available for students, CAEA members, and those identifying as&nbsp;underwaged.
