Each mask relates to seven different emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual manipulative forces we encounter both onstage and in daily life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this workshop you will&#8230;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Learn how to<strong>&nbsp;identify various manipulative personas<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>and de-escalate them<\/strong>&nbsp;effectively&nbsp;<\/li><li>Learn how the masks of manipulation techniques can&nbsp;<strong>help communities identify and articulate the oppressive forces in their lives<\/strong><\/li><li>Use these personas to<strong>&nbsp;create authentic oppressive characters for the stage<\/strong>&nbsp;grounded in these manipulative forces&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop draws on\u202fCommedia&nbsp;dell\u2019Arte-inspired masks\u202fto help participants acquire a deeper awareness of\u202fmanipulation and oppression: how and why it happens, what it looks and feels like, and how to deflect it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masks of Manipulation will be facilitated by Simon Malbogat and can be useful for those working as theatre artists, educators, and in helping community members overcome challenging social issues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Email&nbsp;communications[at]mixedcompanytheatre.com&nbsp;with any questions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: The workshop sessions will be videorecorded for internal, archival purposes.
