\u00ab\u00a0STEPS Public Art<\/strong> believes public art has the ability to challenge the systemic inequities that exist in public space. In support of this important work, we facilitate programs that foster inclusive public art practices, build the capacity of underrepresented artists, and demonstrate how public art can help reimagine equitably designed cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are thrilled to launch CreateSpace Public Art Forum<\/em><\/strong>, a digital forum that will virtually convene 50 participants who identify as Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and M\u00e9tis), racialized, rural and\/or youth with disabilities and between the ages of 18-25. CreateSpace Public Art Forum<\/strong> <\/em>runs from January 10-30, 2022. This forum will foster connections, build understanding across geographies and cultures, as well as provide emerging equity-seeking artists with the skills, relationships and support needed to develop public art practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CreateSpace Public Art Forum<\/em><\/strong> will see the presentation of 10 pre-recorded talks\/workshops created by professional public artists and cultural workers. These talks\/workshops will be available in both video (YouTube) and audio (Podcast) versions for accessibility, with ASL translations. Each talk\/workshop will be themed around various ideas and concepts of public art practices. Participants will engage with these talks\/workshops and create an artistic response, with feedback from peers, as well as one on one feedback from established public artists. Their participation will culminate in a profile on the STEPS Public Art website with a virtual presentation of their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program components will be offered primarily in English, with translation and ASL services available as needed to support participation of a diverse community of artists. Interested applicants must submit their expressions of interest by Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST<\/strong>. Those living outside of the Pacific time zone are encouraged to use a timezone converter<\/a> to ensure your application is received by the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEPS Public Art<\/strong> croit que l\u2019art public a la capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9fier les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s syst\u00e9miques qui existent dans l\u2019espace public. Nous sommes ravis de lancer CreateSpace Forum d\u2019Art Public<\/strong>,<\/em> un forum num\u00e9rique qui r\u00e9unira virtuellement 50 participants \u00e2g\u00e9s de 18 \u00e0 25 ans qui s\u2019identifient comme Noirs, Autochtones (Premi\u00e8res Nations, Inuits et M\u00e9tis), racialis\u00e9s, ruraux et\/ou les jeunes handicap\u00e9s. CreateSpace Forum d\u2019Art Public<\/em><\/strong> se d\u00e9roule du janvier 10 au 30, 2022. Ce forum encouragera l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de liens, la compr\u00e9hension et l\u2019appr\u00e9ciation \u00e0 travers les g\u00e9ographies et les cultures, fournira aux artistes \u00e9mergents soucieux d\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 les comp\u00e9tences, les relations et le soutien institutionnel n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la croissance et au d\u00e9veloppement des pratiques d\u2019art public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CreateSpace Forum d\u2019Art Public<\/em><\/strong> verra la pr\u00e9sentation de 10 conf\u00e9rences\/ateliers pr\u00e9enregistr\u00e9s cr\u00e9\u00e9s par des artistes publics professionnels et des travailleurs culturels. Ces conf\u00e9rences \/ateliers seront disponibles en format vid\u00e9o (YouTube) et audio (Podcast), pour des raisons d\u2019accessibilit\u00e9, avec des traductions en langue des signes am\u00e9ricaine en anglais (ASL). Chaque conf\u00e9rence\/ateliers s\u2019articulera autour de diverses id\u00e9es et concepts li\u00e9s aux pratiques de l\u2019art public. Les participants s\u2019engageront dans ces conf\u00e9rence\/ateliers et cr\u00e9eront une r\u00e9ponse artistique, avec les commentaires de leurs pairs, ainsi que des commentaires individuels d\u2019artistes publics \u00e9tablis. Leur participation aboutira \u00e0 un profil sur le site web STEPS Public Art avec une pr\u00e9sentation virtuelle de leur travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les composantes du programme seront offertes principalement en anglais, avec des services de traduction et services langue des signes am\u00e9rican en anglais (ASL), disponibles au besoin pour soutenir la participation d\u2019une communaut\u00e9 diversifi\u00e9 d\u2019artistes. Les candidats int\u00e9ress\u00e9s doivent soumettre leur expression d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat avant le dimanche, 12 d\u00e9cembre, 2021 \u00e0 23h59 HMP.<\/strong> Persons qui vivent en dehors du fuseau horaire du Pacifique sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 utiliser un convertisseur de fuseau<\/a> horaire pour s\u2019assurer que leur application est re\u00e7ue avant la date limite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
