It has taken great imagination, perseverance, and collaboration.&nbsp; We have also heard stories about how initiatives are growing in response to the social and environmental justice issues of our time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coming together again in person, after many months apart, as well as continuing to stay connected online, has been vital in keeping artists and communities connected, the creativity flowing, providing access to arts and art-making, keeping the doors open, and contributing to benefits such as mental health and wellness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Membership fees help support the work of ArtBridges all year! <\/strong>As a Member, you will be a vital partner in ArtBridges\u2019 important work by helping us to raise awareness, connect people to community-engaged arts initiatives, gather and share resources, and highlight what\u2019s going on in the practice and field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/artbridges.ca\/getinvolved\/getinvolved_member?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Become a Member!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ArtBridges\u2019 Highlights of 2022:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ArtBridges was active as a <strong>Regional Hub <\/strong>and Steering Committee Member with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/ascnetwork\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/ascnetwork\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Art for Social Change Network (ASCN)<\/a><\/strong>. This project is hosted by: Judith Marcuse Projects (JMP) and the International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC).<strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><em>ASCN is designed to connect and support hundreds of arts for social change (ASC) organizations and independent artists across Canada\u201d.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a Regional Hub, this year ArtBridges led a project called: \u201c<strong>STORIES OF NOW<\/strong>\u201d; the stories are unique vignettes\u2013and together\u2013a kaleidoscope of the field and practice at this moment in time.&nbsp;We&nbsp;drafted guiding questions, interviewed, and heard presentations from 33 community-engaged arts &amp; arts for social change artists-leaders, from every province and territory across Canada inclusive of French, English and Indigenous. The stories demonstrate the resilience, innovation and creativity of artists and ASC initiatives through these very challenging times of the past few years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ArtBridges co-produced the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/ascnetwork\/storiesofnow\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/ascnetwork\/storiesofnow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Stories of Now&nbsp;<\/strong>video<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ArtBridges ASCN Hub Coordinator participated on the Steering Committee for the Conference: <strong>ASCN NOW Gathering,<\/strong> in January, and co-hosted the&nbsp;Opening session \u2013&nbsp;<em>Stories of NOW<\/em>, Presented in:&nbsp;<em>Session \u2013 The Art for Social Change Network<\/em>&nbsp;(<em>ASCN): Who and What, <\/em>and Hosted&nbsp;Session \u2013<em>Embedded Evaluation: Capacity Building for the Sector and Beyond.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ArtBridges\u2019 Executive Director, participated for the third time as a mentor in FUTURES\/forward &#8211; a National Mentorship Program\u201d<em>designed to connect seasoned ASC practitioners with early-to-mid career community-engaged artists, foster peer-to-peer exchange with others doing change work with diverse communities, and bridge the urban\/rural divide. <\/em>(FUTURES\/forward is hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/what-is-icasc\/\">International Centre of Art for Social Change (ICASC)<\/a>, an initiative of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/icasc.ca\/judith-marcuse-projects\" target=\"_blank\">Judith Marcuse Projects<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Like numerous arts organizations across Canada, ArtBridges has navigated through the challenges of working through the pandemic and adapting to new ways of working to continue to be relevant, viable and sustainable.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over the year, we worked hard to preserve our website and hub and to keep the information flowing about what\u2019s going on in the field via<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artbridges.ca\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.artbridges.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">artbridges.ca<\/a><\/strong>, with blog posts, Facebook &amp; Twitter, Learning and Resources. We hired a web development team that is working on migrating the content over to a more sustainable platform. We\u2019ve responded to people with special requests\u2014assisting with finding mentorship, connections, art supplies, and writing letters of support.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We concluded the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/en\/2022\/10\/seventh-annual-recognition-awards\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/en\/2022\/10\/seventh-annual-recognition-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7th Annual Remarkable Community-Engaged Arts Awards<\/a> <\/strong>and announced the finalists: Remarkable Innovation: The <strong>Art for Aid Project<\/strong> (Smith Falls, ON), Remarkable Creativity: <strong>Bienvenue au monde<\/strong> (Cowansville, QC), and Remarkable Resiliency: <strong>Piece of Mind Collective<\/strong> (Montreal, QC). Awards were sponsored by the Ruth Mandel \u2013 WHO GIVES Fund. We are currently kicking off our <strong>8th Annual Remarkable Community-Engaged Arts Awards<\/strong>.
