how art  contributes to the maintenance\/recovery of culture and language; the  intersections of decolonization work for both racialized and indigenous  communities; and how relationships within and among communities are  built using artistic processes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Dates<\/span>: August <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">3, 10 and <\/span>17, 2010<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\"><strong>August 3:<\/strong> Award-winning author Lee Maracle discusses resisting colonization through art and cultural reclamation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\"><strong>August 10:<\/strong> Activist and writer Zainab Amadahy looks at how recovering, creating and sharing Indigenous women\u2019s music contributes to <em>indigenizing<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration:line-through;\">our ways of thinking as well as our relationships on Turtle Island (North America).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>August 17:<\/strong> Amai Kuda\u2014singer\/songwriter and community activist\u2014examines the importance<span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\"> <\/span>of  spirit and spirituality in the process of decolonizing, and the role of  art as a primary vehicle for spirit&rsquo;s expression.\u00a0 Addressing the  socio-political and personal, theoretical as well as practical, the  workshop will probe the questions of &lsquo;how do we listen to the voices of  our ancestors?&rsquo;\u00a0 and &lsquo;how are we the voices of ancestors?&rsquo;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Time<\/span>: 6:00 p.m. \u2013 9:00 p.m. each night<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Location<\/span>: University of Toronto \u2013 OISE (Room TBA)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Cost<\/span>: $60 for series of 3;
