With? For? Community?<\/a> \/\u00a0\u00bb<a href=\"http:\/\/artbridgesblog.ca\/2010\/10\/28\/invitation-a-l%E2%80%99art-communautaire-sur-avec-pour-une-communaute-montreal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L&rsquo;Art communautaire: Sur? Avec? Pour? Une communaut\u00e9?<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb workshop. It was an amazing opportunity for participants &#8211; artists, psychologists, directors, government grantors, art therapists, students, community arts practitioners &#8211;\u00a0to <strong>really delve into the questions and ethics around community arts engagement.<\/strong> Notes  from this workshop will be posted in French and English on the Engrenage Noir\/LEVIER blog.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;At a truck stop on the way to Montr\u00e9al, I was reading in the November  edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.more.ca\/michaelle-jean-looking-forward\/a\/33139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More Magazine about <em>The Right Honourable<\/em> Micha\u00eblle Jean<\/a> and the new \u00ab\u00a0Micha\u00eblle Jean Foundation.\u00a0\u00bb In an engaging interview with  Linda Lewis, editor-in-chief of <em>More<\/em> and Sylvie Poirier, editor-in-chief  of <em>Vita <\/em>(<em>More<\/em>&lsquo;s French-language counterpart), Micha\u00eblle Jean explains,  \u00a0\u00bb <strong>The new Micha\u00eblle Jean Foundation is going to [be] &#8230; especially focused on youth initiatives  using the arts as tools for individual and social change&#8230;\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> Sounds like a great funding opportunity! &#8230;read the link in <em>More<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.more.ca\/michaelle-jean-looking-forward\/a\/33139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> and in \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pm.gc.ca\/eng\/media.asp?id=3681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PM announces legacy gift to Micha\u00eblle&#8230;<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;I returned from the road trip on Sunday, and tuned in to CBC Radio 1&rsquo;s program,<em> In The Field<\/em>, where l listened to Peter Sheldon&rsquo;s documentary Etched in Stone about artists in Cape Dorset.\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/inthefield\/2010\/11\/november-16-2010.html\">November 16, 2010 broadcast, part two<\/a>) The documentary <strong>touched upon the successes and challenges of this famous arts community and the new directions that artists, particularly the next generation, are taking at the Kinngait studio<\/strong>.
