\u00ab\u00a0REFUGE : Une vente aux ench\u00e8res d’art au profit du Foyer pour Femmes Autochtones de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Pour notre 3i\u00e8me vente aux ench\u00e8res d’art annuelle, Le Ste-Emilie Skillshare<\/strong> tient \u00e0 souligner le travail de premi\u00e8re ligne du Foyer pour Femmes Autochtones de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>. Tous les jours, ce foyer soutient de nombreuses femmes et de familles qui doivent constamment faire face aux cons\u00e9quences de l\u2019assimilation d\u00fb \u00e0 la colonisation. Jusqu’\u00e0 r\u00e9cemment, le foyer offrait la gu\u00e9rison culturelle gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la Fondation Autochthones de Gu\u00e9rison. Cependant, le budget f\u00e9d\u00e9ral 2010 a annul\u00e9 le financement de ce projet ainsi que plusieurs autres aux quatre coins du pays. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dans le pass\u00e9, nos ventes aux ench\u00e8res ont apport\u00e9 leur soutien \u00e0 trois groupes sp\u00e9cifiques: les Fonds de D\u00e9fense L\u00e9gale Tyendinaga, le R\u00e9seau de R\u00e9sistance de Jeux Olympiques et le Forum Contre la Violence Polici\u00e8re et L’impunit\u00e9<\/strong>. Cette ann\u00e9e, nous voudrions mettre l\u2019accent sur le r\u00f4le crucial du travail de soutien direct. Le Foyer pour Femmes Autochtones est un exemple parfait de comment les gens peuvent survivre et lutter ensemble.<\/span><\/p>\n

Artistes et non-artistes :<\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nNous demandons des donations d’oeuvre d\u2019art (et non-artistique) dans n’importe quel format. Nous pr\u00e9f\u00e9rons le travail avec un message souverainiste anticolonial ou Autochtones. Toute production qui se rallie au mandat de Ste-Emilie qui est de lutter contre l\u2019oppression et la repr\u00e9sentation de soi sera tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nSi votre organisation ou certains de vos membres voudraient contribuer d’une fa\u00e7on ou d’une autre, s\u2019il vous pla\u00eet contactez nous. Il nous fera plaisir d’organiser des ateliers avec vous \u00e0 Ste-Emilie ou \u00e0 votre propre espace.<\/span>
\nLa vente aux ench\u00e8res surviendra le Vendredi, le 6 mai 2011<\/strong>. Le produit net de la vente aux ench\u00e8res ira directement au foyer.<\/span><\/p>\n

HAVEN: an art auction to benefit the Native Women’s Shelter of Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For our 3rd annual art auction, the Ste-Emilie Skillshare<\/strong> would like to recognize the front-line work of the Native Women’s Shelter of Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>. Every hour of every day, they support women and families that must constantly deal with the ramifications of an on-going colonization. Until recently, the Shelter offered cultural healing through the Aboriginal Healing Foundation. The 2010 federal budget, however, cancelled the funding to the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, closing this project and over one-hundred others from coast to coast. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the past, our auctions have benefited the Tyendinaga Legal Defense Fund, the Olympics Resistance Network and the Forum Against Police Violence and Impunity<\/strong>, three campaign-oriented groups. This year, we would like to highlight the critical role direct-support work can play in our movements. The Native Women’s Shelter is a perfect example of how people can survive and struggle together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Artists and non-Artists:<\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nWe are asking for donations of art (and non-art) in any format. We prefer work with an anti-colonial or Indigenous sovereigntist message, but anything that is aligned with Ste-Emilie’s mandate of anti-oppression and self-representation is much much appreciated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Community organizations:<\/span><\/strong><\/em>
\nIf your membership or participants would like to contribute somehow, please get in touch. We would be happy to organize workshops with you at Ste-Emilie or your own space.<\/span>
\nThe auction will take place Friday, May 6th<\/strong>. Net proceeds from the auction go directly to the Shelter.<\/span><\/p>\n
