July 9 to August 20, 2012 (6 weeks, 30 hours per week)<\/strong> The Arts Network for Children and Youth<\/a> (ANCY) is seeking a student who is returning full time to school in the fall for a six-week position as our Arts Administration Assistant. The individual will assist with a variety of tasks with ANCY, a not-for-profit organization whose vision is for all children and youth have access to arts and creative activities in their communities. \n Program evaluation<\/strong>
\n– Aid in analyzing, disseminating and documenting qualitative evaluation for National Youth Arts Week which was held May 1-7 2012<\/p>\n
\n– Assist in facilitating youth conversations around community art and engagement
\n– Develop and enhance ANCY\u2019s social media presence among youth artists
\n– Develop and foster strong relationships with youth, youth arts organizations and community development organizations across Canada through social media conversations<\/p>\n
\n– Assist in the development and execution of a membership program
\n– Update, manage and maintain database of member organizations, youth arts organizations, youth artists, media contacts, municipalities and politicians
\n– Develop comprehensive list of grants with due dates, eligibility requirements, application instructions
\n– Update and expand cultural mapping of arts organizations involved in children and youth programming and youth arts festivals across Canada<\/p>\n
\n– Assist in the planning of a small-scale conference for youth artists from across Canada<\/p>\n
\n– Field telephone and email inquiries; word processing; database inputting<\/p>\n
\n– Interest in arts management, youth engagement and community development
\n– Comfortable engaging with diverse communities of youth artists
\n– Familiar and comfortable with challenges of working with small non-profit organizations
\n– Experience in administration and\/or communication
\n– Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
\n– Experience with planning events and executing projects
\n– Proven ability to time-manage, prioritize and oversee multiple concurrent tasks
\n– Proven ability to adhere to project timelines and work to project deadlines
\n– Very familiar with Microsoft Office: Publisher, Word, Excel
\n– Knowledgeable about using Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube
\n– Able to use Microsoft Access; database management skills a definite asset
\n– Experience with Adobe Creative Suite an asset<\/p>\n
\n– Willing and able think creatively, develop new ideas
\n– Flexible, positive and responsive to suggestions
\n– Work well under pressure and tight timelines
\n– Highly organized and professional
\n– Friendly demeanour; an enthusiastic and positive team player<\/p>\n
\n– are between 15 and 30 years of age;
\n– have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
\n– are Canadian citizens or permanent residents or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible); and
\n– are legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant provincial\/territorial legislation and regulations.<\/p>\n
