Forum Theatre Performance and Creation Workshop (2 Days, July 19th & 20th 2019, 10AM-5PM)
What is Forum Theatre?
This intensive all-levels workshop led by award-winning artist Simon Malbogat is a hands-on introduction to Forum Theatre, a style of theatre rooted in anti-oppression principles. This workshop explores how theatre facilitates community engagement, addresses social justice issues, sparks community dialogue and bring about grassroots advocacy.
Artists will explore how forum theatre techniques of community participation, intervention and improvisation can help build tool kits for character development, devised creation and audience engagement.
Community Organizers, Social Workers & Educators will learn they can use Forum Theatre in their everyday practice to initiate vital conversations, engage in critical inquiry, and create social change in their communities.
