Le PRIX POWERHOUSE est un prix de reconnaissance de $5,000 qui a pour but de souligner la pratique d’une femme* artiste montréalaise ayant atteint ou dépassé le stade de mi-carrière. Il est destiné à une artiste qui a contribué de manière significative au milieu culturel montréalais. ce prix honore une personne qui a fait preuve de persévérance et qui poursuit son oeuvre en demeurant fidèle à sa vision.

LE PRIX COMPREND
5 000$
et une invitation pour la lauréate à donner une conférence à La Centrale portant sur sa pratique artistique.
CRITÈRES D’ADMISSIBILITÉ
– Être une artiste âgée de 37 ans et plus qui s’identifie comme femme*
– Vivre dans la grande région de Montréal en date de la nomination
– Que la candidature soit soumise par une tierce personne
– Soutenir une pratique artistique pertinente et de qualité, qui demeure sous-représentée par les grandes institutions culturelles montréalaises
– Poursuivre une carrière artistique professionnelle de façon soutenue en arts visuels depuis au moins 10 ans (incluant les nouveaux médias, l’art sonore et la performance)
– Les membres du conseil d’administration et les travailleuses de La Centrale ne sont pas éligibles
PROPOSER UNE CANDIDATURE
Pour proposer la candidature d’une artiste, veuillez nous écrire en expliquant pourquoi la candidate mérite ce prix, selon les critères énumérés ci-haut. N’oubliez pas de mentionner pourquoi cette artiste vous semble sous-représentée! Les candidatures devront être soumises avant le vendredi 23 mai 2014 par courriel à l’adresseprogrammation@lacentrale.org.

The PRIX POWERHOUSE is a $5,000 recognition award that celebrates women* artists who have reached the mid-stage in their career and contribute in a significant way to the cultural life of Montréal. The purpose of the prize is to recognize and honour an artist of unique vision who pursues their practice with determination and without compromise.
*Women and self-identified women.
THE AWARD INCLUDES
$5,000
and an invitation to the winner to give a talk about their art practice at La Centrale
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
– Be at least 37 years of age and identify as a woman*
– Live within the Greater Montréal area at the date of nomination
– Be nominated by a third party (only one nomination per artist will be considered)
– Sustain a pertinent artistic practice of quality that thrives under the radar of major cultural institutions in the city
– Have a practice in the visual arts that spans more than ten years (visual arts includes new media, sound and performance)
– Board and staff members of La Centrale are not eligible
NOMINATE AN ARTIST FOR THE PRIZE
To nominate an artist, please write us an email stating why the artist is deserving of the prize, according to the above stated criteria. Do not forget to mention why you feel this artist is underrecognized.
Please include the full contact information (email, phone, postal address) for yourself and your nominee. Nominations should be submitted no later than Friday May 23rd, 2014, by email to programmation@lacentrale.org.
