"Creative Facilitation 1
Working with groups is by definition a creative adventure and the arts can be your greatest ally. In this two-day experiential professional development training you will gain a basic introduction to PYE’s proven arts-based model of group facilitation.

You will gain a framework for using arts-based practices to strengthen your effectiveness as a facilitator. You will develop basic skills in using the arts to lead groups of all sizes and gain a large toolbox of easy-to-lead activities. You will learn ways to engage a full range of learning styles and bring out the strengths of each participant. And in the process you’ll build confidence in your own creativity. This training is based on the premise that you don’t have to be a professional artist to use the arts in your work with people of all ages, youth or adults. No previous arts experience required.

This workshop is for anyone who works with groups of youth or adults as well as for people who simply want to enhance their own creativity: youth workers, educators, artists, trainers, facilitators, business leaders, and the general public.

You will learn:
• Ways to use the arts to enliven learning, deepen reflection, and develop social and emotional skills
• Easy-to-lead activities based on storytelling, creative writing, visual arts, music, drama and movement
• Ways to create safe environments for creative exploration
• Practical models of creative process and group dynamics
• How to weave multi-arts into a program
• Ways to engage your own creativity and find new joy and energy in your work
