Le PRIX POWERHOUSE est un prix de reconnaissance bisannuel de 10 000$ partagé entre deux artistes montréalais.e.s afin de célébrer leur parcours artistique. Il s’adresse aux artistes à la mi-carrière ou établi.e.s, ayant contribué de manière significative au milieu culturel montréalais. Ce prix honore des artistes qui poursuivent leur travail en demeurant engagé.e.s dans leur démarche. Le prix s’intègre au mandat de La Centrale qui a pour objectif de diffuser des pratiques artistiques féministes et de soutenir la visibilité d’artistes et d’initiatives peu ou pas représenté.e.s auprès des institutions culturelles dominantes. Le centre est une plateforme pour l’art contemporain porté par les féminismes, l’intersectionnalité et la justice sociale.

The PRIX POWERHOUSE is a 10 000$ biennial recognition award shared between two Montréal artists to celebrate their artistic journey. It is destined to mid-stage and established artists who contribute in a significant way to Montréal’s cultural life. This award honours artists who continue their work by remaining committed in their approach. The award is in line with La Centrale’s mandate to promote feminist artistic practices and to support underrepresented artists in dominant cultural institutions. The centre is a platform for contemporary art carried by feminisms, intersectionality and social justice.
