Social Media Networking for DTES Community Arts

Thursday, November 1 (2-4pm) and Monday, November 19 (10am-noon), UBC Learning Exchange
“We’re a group of 5-9 who meet twice a month. Thanks to UBC Learning Exchange we are able to use laptop computers and meet each other through our facebook and twitter pages – and more importantly – by face-to-face contact and conversation.

During the time this program has been going a lot of tweets and posts have been created to support community and arts in the DTES – AND a lot of other networking results as well, such as:

• frames from Gallery Gachet’s once-a-year cleanup headed to Mission Possible’s art program
• a photographer who needed a special mat received a donation from a client of another participant
• an artist who attended is now leading workshops at UBC Learning Exchange
• we helped get Thanksgiving turkeys for a special dinner.
