“Jim Fay Music Bursary/SHINE, now in its 4th year, is accepting applications for the 2013 awards. There has been a deadline extension; applications must be received by Nov 30, 2013.

This past August another young and well-loved musician, James Gray died suddenly. His family chose to direct memorial gifts to the -Jim Fay Music Bursary/SHINE so this year we are able to award more bursaries to qualified youth.

Bursaries are awarded annually to selected youth (aged 16 to 25) living in the GTA, who are experiencing financial barriers, who want to further their study or practice of traditional, folk or roots music. Award amounts vary, up to a maximum of $2,000 per recipient. Recipients may use their award to further their study or practice of music.
