Sharing the stories of refugees to Canada; digital stories, videos, performances, art (North York Community House, Toronto)

North York Community House is pleased to be recognizing April as Refugee Rights Month by hosting a free community education event called Once Upon a Refugee.

Through Digital Story videos, performances, art and guest speakers, we hope to amplify the voices of refugees from all over the world who have made Toronto their home. Our event will highlight the challenges that refugees must overcome in establishing themselves in a new country, as well as celebrate the accomplishments that they have made – often against all odds.

We invite you to join us to explore the refugee experience, hear several individual stories and participate in a dialogue about this important aspect of our community life.

Date: Thursday, April 19, 2018
Time: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Location: Toronto City Hall – 100 Queen Street West (Committee Room 1)
Free
Refreshments will be provided.”
