Porch View Dances: Real People Dancing in Real Spaces is a community dance event conceived by Karen Kaeja and developed with Allen Kaeja of Kaeja d’Dance, that has seen overwhelming success in the Seaton Village community for over seven years. In June 2017, Lakeshore Arts partnered with Kaeja to pilot the Porch View Dances (PVD) program in the Long Branch community. This year, PVD will travel to the New Toronto community happening Saturday June 2nd & Sunday June 3rd, 2018.

In the manner of a guided neighbourhood tour, PVD New Toronto audience members will travel from house to house to see two local families performing dances on the porches and front yards of their own homes. These dances are created with the support professional award-winning choreographers Michael Caldwell & Louis Laberge-Côté and Karen & Allen Kaeja, and celebrate the lives and stories of families and residents of New Toronto. With surprises along the route, tours end with a Flock Landing, a participatory group dance.”
