About The Mix

“Where people with disabilities or barriers, MixAbilities-trained artist facilitators, and inclusive arts groups come to mix! It’s where we learn, develop, rehearse, exhibit, and collaborate with each other and the wider community.

The Mix is a 4,000-square-foot space located at 235 Wellington Street featuring a multi-purpose workshop and presentation spaces, offices, and a 50-foot inclusive art gallery wall.

H’art Centre took over the neighbouring space in 2021 with a goal to create a welcoming hub. Now, it’s where people with disabilities, people who are D/deaf, MixAbilities-trained artist facilitators, and inclusive arts groups learn, develop, rehearse, exhibit, and collaborate with each other and the wider community.

With this new space, we are able to bring inclusive theatre groups together for residencies and offer on-site outreach workshops. It is home to MixAbilities, our award-winning inclusive arts training program. We see THE MIX as a space where we can nurture inclusive arts leaders, accelerating positive change in Kingston and beyond.”
