ArtBridges visits Wonderbolt Circus (St. John’s NL)

Hey it’s Sonya, Outreach Coordinator for ArtBridges. I was on vacation in St. John’s NL and I happened to see the sign on the door for the Wonderbolt Circus, so I just had to take a look! “What does the office of a circus look like?” I was wondering, as I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor office of Circus for an impromptu visit. Beni Malone, Artistic Director of the Circus, was working on the details of an upcoming tour. Here is some interesting background from our ArtBridges profile:

“Wonderbolt was founded in 1981 when it toured Newfoundland by boat to all of the island’s most isolated communities… We have a history of partnering with school boards, Innu Nation and other arts organizations to develop and deliver a wide variety of workshops promoting physical wellness and participation through the arts and we offer workshops to the general public.”

Even though they work out of a small office with one window facing Water Street in St. John’s NL, here many original works are planned. Be sure to check out their next show “Bolt out of the Blue.” Find out more about Wonderbolt by reading their community profile.
