“Alianait’s 10th Anniversary Festival takes place  from June 27 to July 1 and we have a stellar line-up of performers, including a few favourites from previous years — Namgar, a Mongolian/Chinese collaboration from Moscow, New Zealand’s Pacific Curls, Nunavut’s favourite storyteller Michael Kusugak,Canadian singer/song-writer Nathan Rogers and the “Minister of Positivity” Fred Penner.

We are thrilled to feature 2 performances of a new circus production Asiu by Artcirq and to introduce our audiences to Akukittut from Greenland featuring Kimmernaq Kjeldsen, Mike Phillip Fencker Thomsen, Frederik Elsner and Hans-Henrik Poulsen.

Nunavut artists performing for the first time at the Alianait Arts Festival are Northern Haze, Etulu & Udjualuk Etidloie and Joanne Ashley with special guests Greg Simms and Trent Freeman.  And we’re always thrilled to present popular Nunavut groups The Tradeoffs and Kikkukia.

We are also pleased to introduce Nunavik’s Jaaji Uppik,the Yukon’s swing folk duo Fawn Fritzen & Grant Simpson, country/blues/funk band The Crooked Brothers from Manitoba, Alberta singer-songwriter Billie Zizi and B.C.’s orchestral pop group Wintermitts.”

Tickets for the main stage concerts cost $20 for adults, $10 for youth (13-18), elders and children (12 & under) are free.
