Call for Applications: 3rd Annual New Brunswick Musicians Emerge Festival (Deadline: July 31)

“The Charlotte Street Arts Centre is seeking submissions from emerging New Brunswick musicians to perform in our 2013 New Brunswick Musicians Emerge (NB-ME) Festival.

The third annual NB-ME Festival will create a unique, inclusive and spectacularly fun festival that fully supports emerging artists. With the help of our partner organizations, Musique NB/NB Music, the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-op and Picaroons Traditional Ales, the Charlotte Street Arts Centre will offer participating artists access to a rare public performance platform (the Charlotte Street Arts Centre Auditorium), access to a new audience base, amazing prize packages for each band/artist and free, relevant professional development opportunities with experts in the music community.

The festival will take place the weekend of November 15th/16th and will feature live musical performances on Friday and Saturday, as well as professional development workshops for the performers on Saturday. The workshops, led by industry professionals, will include improvisational techniques and music video production.

Artists will not be disqualified based on commercial success or accomplishments: “emerging” can include artists embarking on a new musical direction, etc. Submissions will be accepted via our easy online application form or by regular post. For more information on how to apply, including a link to the submission form or our mailing address, please contact Michael Taggart at events@charlottestreetarts.ca or visit our website at http://charlottestreetarts.ca/index.php/site/full-event-details/438

Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2013.

NB-ME is made possible this year with generous funding from The Fredericton Community Foundation, The City of Fredericton (Arts, Culture & Heritage), Picaroons Traditional Ales, The River Jam Fundraiser & The SOCAN Foundation.”
