Jumblies Studio partners with Myths and Mirrors Community Arts to offer two workshops in Sudbury
« Toronto’s Jumblies Studio will be in Sudbury, Ontario in August and September to deliver The Art of Community and Oral History and Art-Making, two workshops for artists wanting to learn more about community arts and the use of personal storytelling and memory in art-making.
Modeled on Jumblies’ popular Artfare Essentials workshop, The Art of Community is a three-day intensive overview of the principles and practices of art that engages with and creates community. It will be held from August 8-10 at St Andrews Place, 111 Larch St, in Sudbury. The cost is $90.
Offered for the first time in Toronto in February 2013, Oral History and Art-Making is a four-day advanced workshop for artists with some experience and/or a strong interest in oral history and interview-based research in art-making and performance. It will be held from September 26-29 at YMCA Sudbury, 140 Durham St. The cost is $120.
Both workshops will be facilitated by Ruth Howard, Artistic Director of Jumblies Theatre, and a team of co-facilitators.
