Hello everyone,
It took a while, but we’ve just completed the initial contact data list comprised of the community arts projects, programs, centres, organizations and resources that we have identified or heard about across Canada. So far, we’ve sourced 310 community arts projects, programs, centres, organizations and resources that are English-language-based and focus on providing arts access in under-resourced communities. Our francophone research assistants have researched 5 provinces so far and have mapped 74 francophone or bilingual community arts projects, programs, centres, organizations and resources as well. As we reach other provinces and territories, these numbers will grow.
Our process is to eventually put all of the contact information on our ArtBridges map for you to easily find. This is not to say that the research is over, as we’re always looking out for great community arts and arts for social change projects! Don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you know of any others.
The next two weeks will be a bit quieter here on our blog as we spend the time completing our contact list of 384 community arts projects, programs, centres, organizations and resources. So stick around for exciting things to come! Happy Canada Day!
